Shifting Minds, Shaping Policies: Tackling Plastic Waste Together
In a continued effort to foster environmental sustainability and promote plastic reduction practices within the community, local leaders, educators, and environmental advocates will gather to discuss strategies for reducing plastic waste.
The meeting will take place on Wednesday, February 26th at 5:30pm at Valparaiso University’s Harre Union, Ballroom A.
Presentations and discussions will focus on the psychology of decision making and advocacy for effective legislative policies related to our plastic pollution problem.
Presenters include: Blake Bent, a Professor of Psychology at Valparaiso University, and Harishini Ratnayaka, the Advocacy Program Manager at Save the Dunes.
The meeting, hosted by the Plastic Reduction Alliance of Northwest Indiana, will continue to address the growing concern of plastic pollution and its impact on the environment and public health.
For those unable to attend in person, the event will be streamed via Facebook Live, allowing remote participants to join the conversation and ask questions, ensuring an inclusive experience for all interested community members.

Holiday Swap, Thrift, and Gift
We are so excited to partner with Alley Kats for this FREE event to swap your holiday trinkets for something new to you!! Join us to promote sustainability and reduce single use plastics this holiday season by being a part of this fun night.
Attendees are asked to bring gently used ornaments, tabletop decor (no larger than a microwave), and unfinished or unused rolls of wrapping paper, gift bags, and wrapping accessories, such as bows and gift tags to SWAP with others at the event.
FIRST TWENTY PEOPLE TO SIGN UP GET A FREE PLASTIC ALLIANCE REUSABLE BAG!! and delicious hot chocolate will be provided by Roots Market Cafe.

Plastic Reduction Alliance NWI Meeting

The meeting will take place on August 28 at 6:30pm at Valparaiso University’s Harre Union, Ballroom C.
The meeting, hosted by the Plastic Reduction Alliance of Northwest Indiana, will continue to address the growing concern of plastic pollution and its impact on the environment and public health, with a focus on schools and educational institutions.
